We are hiring a Graduate Software Engineer based in our Lisbon office. Using the identified architecture, the Graduate Software engineer will build, enhance, and maintain products and systems that enable Sage’s business plans and long-term objectives.

The Graduate Software Engineer's primary focus will be on gaining the required skills and knowledge to become an effective and productive member of the Software Engineering team.

We are looking for an active and enthusiastic team player who is passionate about growing and applying technical skills to serve customers.

Ideally, you will also have:

• Knowledge of TypeScript and NodeJS

• Experience with Next.js or another typescript framework

• Experience with PostgreSQL databases, including writing efficient SQL queries

• Solid understanding of software architecture concepts

• Experience with unit testing tools (Jest, Mocha, etc.)

• Experience with Git version control system (e.g., branching, merging, pull requests)

• Passion for growing and applying technical skills in service to customers

• The ability to put into practice knowledge and learning in the form of development tasks

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, deliver, maintain and implement high-quality technical solutions

• Increase technical ability and domain knowledge through active project development life cycle participation.

• Maintain relevant documentation to describe logic, coding/configuration, testing and changes where applicable.

• Seek out and act upon feedback from team members

• Ensure all tasks are completed to the required quality standards.

• Take responsibility for own development and learning via self-study

• Gain customer experience by actively engaging with Sage customers.

• Contribute to early quality activities, including peer reviews of estimates, designs and code

• Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches

• Partner effectively with all team members to deliver against commitments

• Work cross-functionally with various Sage teams: product management, QA/XD, different product lines, or business units to drive forward results
