    POSITION: Technology Support Specialist

    TERMS: 12 month contract

    REPORTS TO: Director of Technology

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical Certifications such as A+, Network+, MCP, MCSE, MCSA are desirable, but not required

  • A practical working knowledge of computers and operating systems.

  • Thorough background in productivity software, including but not limited to Microsoft and Adobe products.

  • Knowledge and experience supporting Google Apps, Chromebooks and Tablets

  • Training/Experience in computer, printer, and basic electronic repair

  • Ability to work cooperatively with staff and students.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of educational settings.

    PROFESSIONAL CRITERIA:

  • Provide technical assistance for computer equipment and peripherals.

  • Repair, when possible, or diagnose needed repair for all electronic equipment.

  • Perform periodic cleaning and diagnostic routines on computers located in all buildings.

  • Maintain a log of repairs, parts, and time.

  • Unpack, inspect, test, and mark new equipment prior to delivery and/or installation.

  • Maintain detailed knowledge of network operating systems, WAN, LAN network functioning.

  • Assist with installation of new software and upgrades.

  • Maintain high integrity and confidentiality in the school operation.

  • Be knowledgeable of and abide by all school board policies, procedures, and other applicable laws.

  • Dress appropriately for the position and work required.

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude toward school, students, and job and communicate the same to the community.

  • Accept constructive criticism and suggestions and seek to improve each performance responsibility.

  • Demonstrate organization and professionalism in fulfilling the responsibilities of the job.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lifting 100 pounds maximum; frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects up to 50 lbs.

  • Good health to minimize absenteeism.

  • Good articulation.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, and copiers.
