Under the general supervision from the Wildland Captain, provides direct services, individually and as a member of a firefighting team, in the suppression and control of fires, wildfire mitigation, emergency response preparation, and other kinds of emergency assistance to the public as required.  Responds to wildfires within the District and nationally, which deployments typically last up to 14 days with the possibility of extension.  Must have a current US driver's license.
