Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Procurement Specialist - Buyer in Huntsville, Alabama, United States. In this role, you will manage the entire procurement lifecycle, supporting a diverse range of projects and customers. This job function involves a strong understanding of ERP solutions, customer service, and buying processes.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle and support multiple projects and customers.
• Validate requirements and justifications for procurement needs.
• Prepare and issue Requests for Proposals/Quotes (RFP/RFQ).
• Conduct and document market analysis to implement the best fit solutions.
• Implement strategic sourcing for sustainable savings and evaluate bids, including price analysis documentation.
• Negotiate terms and execute strategic placement of purchase orders.
• Track procurement progression by proactively monitoring supplier/product delivery.
• Drive value and mitigate risk through supplier health monitoring.
• Integrate supply chain and communicate supplier activities with technical teams, finance team, and quality team.
• Generate required purchase order/subcontract reports.
• Perform, manage, and maintain file documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Support multiple projects in parallel in a rapidly changing environment.
• Maintain a close working relationship with internal and external customers.
• Utilize JAMIS software for procurement processes. Requirements
• Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist or similar role
• Demonstrable knowledge of CRM and ERP systems, preferably JAMIS
• Prior government experience
• Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
• Understanding of strategic buying processes and budget processes
• Proficiency in handling invoice-related tasks
• Strong customer service skills and ability to build relationships with suppliers
• Proficient in the use of ERP Solutions
• Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Demonstrable ability to work in a team environment
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration or a related field.
