The Systems Engineering (SE) Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE).

The Land Warfare and Missile Defense Systems (LWMDS) department oversees all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive the development of complex systems to support various Raytheon programs around the world. The LWMDS department supports Raytheon by cultivating a world-class group of systems thinkers who work together as a team to architect technical solutions to some of the world’s toughest problems. Key technical domains include Radar Systems and Sensor Netting, Effector Systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Communications, Network Design, Battlespace Integration, and Interoperability for Domestic and International customers.

The National Team’s Senior Principal Systems Engineer you will be supporting the Systems Engineering and Integration (NT-S) program’s System Engineers who define, characterize, and develop and document MDS capabilities through work in several areas of systems engineering.

This is an “Onsite” role in Huntsville, Alabama

What You Will Do :

• You will oversee architecture and requirements development activities that define, characterize, develop and document MDS capabilities in the form of architectural framework updates, system-of-system functional and performance requirements, change notices, interface control documents, technical papers and briefings, performance models, and complex requirements traceability efforts.

Qualification You Must Have :

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and ten (10)+ years of relevant experience in the following areas;

• Engineering experience in one or more Missile Defense System domains such as;

• C2 Battle Management

• Sensor simulation development

• Directed sensor tasking

• Multi-phenomenology processing

• Kill Vehicles

• Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer :

• Advanced degree in EE, CE, Physics, Math, ME, Aerospace

• Systems Engineering experience in one or more elements of the Ballistic missile defense system (e.g., Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Fire Control, C2BMC, BMDS sensors (EO/IR/RF), kill vehicles, interceptors, countermeasures, etc.).

• Experience in one or more of the following System Concepts & Requirements areas: system architecture, requirements development and traceability, MBSE development, performance requirements development through modeling and simulation, specialty engineering requirements development, DOORS, CAMEO.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
