Position Overview:

KODA Technologies is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with strong MBSE Modeling skills to build the Mission Operations Concepts and Sequence of Events (OCSE) model for the MAVIS (Mars Ascent Vehicle Integrated System) Program. This position requires expertise in the SysML framework. This position offers the opportunity to play a critical role in the MAVIS program, shaping the operational success of a groundbreaking Mars mission. The ideal candidate will have a passion for space exploration, a strong systems engineering background, and a drive for mission success through advanced MBSE methodologies.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Develop and refine Operations Concepts (OpsCon) and Sequence of Events (SOE) for the MAVIS program, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and constraints.
  • Apply MBSE methodologies using SysML to create, maintain, and integrate system models supporting OCSE development.
  • Develop and manage the Requirements Validation Model, ensuring traceability from system requirements to mission objectives.
  • Construct and maintain Mission Success Trees and Goal Trees to support risk assessment, decision-making, and verification planning.
  • Collaborate closely with LM Systems Architect and work within the Lockheed Martin Model Development Plan, ensuring compliance with modeling standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, mission planners, and software engineers, to integrate OCSE into the broader MAVIS architecture.
  • Conduct trade studies and analysis to optimize mission operations and ensure robustness in various operational scenarios.
  • Willing and capable of engaging in productive biweekly demonstrations to MAVIS stakeholders on model maturity, ensuring transparency and alignment with mission needs.
  • Deliver clear, concise, and engaging presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences, including program leadership and external partners.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers in MBSE best practices and OCSE development.

Required Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Strong MBSE expertise with proficiency in SysML and experience using MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, Rhapsody).
  • Experience integrating DOORS with Cameo
  • Experience in developing OCSE models for space missions or complex aerospace systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop Requirements Validation Models, Mission Success Trees, and Goal Trees.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Must have strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Experience working with Lockheed Martin's Model Development Plan o similar structured MBSE frameworks.
  • Systems engineering experience in space systems, launch vehicles, or deep-space missions.
  • U.S. citizenship is required

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Mars or deep-space mission operations concepts.
  • Familiarity with NASA and DoD space mission processes and standards.
  • Experience in digital engineering and model integration across enterprise-level architectures.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for MBSE automation.
