Top Requirements:

Experience in an automotive assembly manufacturing environment

Experience in Toyota Production System (TPS) work design preferred Strong Lean Problem-Solving knowledge and abilities.

Ability to work with your hands and make independent physical change

Job Description:

The Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer is responsible for identifying waste and implementing the most efficient methods for production.

This individual will work as a team to coordinate the activities necessary to improve the overall efficiency of existing processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with a team of engineers and problem solvers in order to achieve department goals.

• Identifies areas of unnecessary waste and drive efficiency improvements for the department.

• Develops and updates process documentation and procedure instruction.

• Conducts direct labor studies using acceptable engineering practices and establishes labor standards on operations, set up, and workstation layout.

• Defines tooling and fixturing used in the manufacturing process, while also assisting with ideas for specialized processes.

• Analyzes and evaluates manufacturing methods and standards.

• Provides solutions to problems that adversely affect safety, quality, productivity, and cost Work closely with other engineering groups such a Design, Assembly, Tube fab and Paint.

• Recognize current production problems and provide feedback to the team and direct feedback to design engineers. Reviews and evaluates manufacturing costs pertaining to make vs. buy decisions.

• Drive lean culture. Performs other assignments as requested.

• Works to minimize down time to production, during improvement projects and model year changes.
