Job Title: Engineering TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician with a strong background in sUAS assembly and small component assembly. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of subsystems in sUAS and the ability to troubleshoot effectively. A working knowledge of part numbering, BOM structures, and their integration into a product is essential. Prior experience with schematic/blueprint/work instructions is also required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble small components and utilize hand tools effectively.

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.

• Support engineering tasks, including prototype development and customer equipment reviews.

• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and work instructions.

• Use oscilloscopes and other diagnostic tools to identify issues.

• Assist with Root Cause and Correction Analysis (RCCA) alongside team members.

• Recognize and report trends in failures and components to the QA department.

• Inspect incoming products critically to determine field failures.

• Manage time efficiently to support production and RMA schedules.

Essential Skills

• Prior sUAS assembly and small component assembly experience.

• Solid understanding of subsystems in sUAS.

• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electronic systems.

• Working knowledge of part numbering and BOM structures.

• Experience with schematics, blueprints, and work instructions.

• Mechanical assembly and repair skills.

• Proficiency in using oscilloscopes and diagnostic tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate Degree in a technical field.

• Prior experience in a mechanically inclined role.

• Strong time management skills.

• Critical inspection skills.

• Meticulous application of consistent methods and processes.

Work Environment

This position is based at our facility on Maysville Road in Huntsville, Alabama. The work hours are from 7 AM to 3:30 PM. Currently, there are 20 contractors working at this site. The environment is collaborative, with opportunities to engage in innovative research and development projects, particularly in partnership with the Army and Air Force for UAS capabilities and new products. The dress code is casual, and safety protocols are strictly followed.
