Leidos Defense Systems is currently has an opening in our Uncrewed Systems Integration and Test Team an opening for a Data Links Test Engineer to work in our Huntsville, AL office. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team of engineers to help DoD Uncrewed Systems pioneer new data communications technology ensuring mission success.

Primary Responsibilities

The Data Links Test Engineer will join our team of engineers to perform analyses and studies to advise our DoD customers on issues relating to the future of Uncrewed Systems communications. Our team provides technical and academic counsel for government product offices to aid in architecting communications solutions to be deployed in the field to support the warfighter, thus ensuring our customers can cost-effectively maximize capability as new, advanced communications capabilities are sought.

Basic Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or Physics plus 4 years of relevant experience in communications and/or Electronic Warfare (EW) environments.

• Knowledge of RF concepts (RF testing, RF propagation, RF schematics, link budgets, etc.), especially in relation to over-the-air signal detection.

• Knowledge of communications waveform modulation theory (PSK, QAM, etc.)

• Knowledge of Forward Error Correction (FEC) techniques (LDPC, turbo codes, Reed-Solomon, etc.)

• Hands-on test equipment experience (spectrum/signal analyzer, signal/function generator, oscilloscope)

• Radio testing (lab testing and/or flight testing)

• Data analysis (MATLAB)

Must be a US citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance and meet the eligibility to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.

Must be a resident of Huntsville, Alabama,  *or * be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, Alabama area.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
