JOB TITLE:Crew Leader (Custodial)

Bargaining Unit Status: Bargaining Unit

FULL-TIME(hours per week):40 M-F 7:00AM-3:30PM

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least one years experience in a custodial operations facility or comparable setting
  • Additional Preferred Qualifications: N/A
  • Certification or equivalent preferred:N/A
  • Working knowledge of computer operations, such Microsoft Word, and completion of spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be authorized for coverage under agency insurance if operating agency vehicle, have good driving record, valid drivers license, and/or required level of personal auto insurance.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check, per company requirements.
  • Listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with tact and maintain confidentiality.
  • Adequate ability in communicating in spoken conversation - adequate volume speech.
  • Ability to effectively build and maintain positive working relationships with management and peers.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Zone Supervisor

POSITIONS SUPERVISED (or Team Lead responsibilities, if applicable): Lead duties include responsibility for work assignments and oversight for up to fifteen custodians.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY: Cleans and keeps work sites, restrooms, and exterior areas of offices, shops, and other occupied areas in orderly condition in accordance with contract requirements. Responsible for assigning and oversight of work by personnel assigned to the individuals area of responsibility. Performs daily inspection of assigned areas, including outside buildings. Makes independent decisions, and ensures that all necessary corrections are made, seeking support from next level management as necessary to ensure that services performed are in accordance with contract requirements and company policy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Specifics are Outlined in the Performance Work Statement):

  • Orient new employees, including explaining their duties, taking them on a familiarization tour, and assigning them worksheets for reference.

``` - Indoctrinate employees in procedures for reporting and responding to fires, hazardous conditions, and items requiring immediate repair. - Ensure that personnel are trained to perform work in accordance with safe and up-to-date cleaning procedures and methods. - Complete work schedule for employees, make work assignments, follow up to ensure work is being performed properly, and that time motion forms are completed daily and adhere to company rules and regulations. - Responsible for ensuring that the company issued pager (if assigned) is carried and is operational during assigned work hours for communication with supervisor and the office staff. - Responsible for ensuring that all buildings and assigned vehicle(s) are secured, and that keys are controlled according to policy/supervisor instructions. - Responsible for ensuring that proper maintenance of assigned vehicles is performed on schedule and/or when issues are identified, and that employees are operating vehicles in a safe manner in accordance with company policy and rules/regulations of the government facility. - Responsible for coordinating all matters related to the successful operation of the project with the supervisor, including recommendations for hiring decisions and/or appropriate actions to address performance and/or conduct/attendance issues as needed. - Schedule periodic work with assigned team members to ensure compliance with the performance work statement (PWS) provided by the supervisor. - Ensuring personal protective equipment is worn as required. - Daily inspection of assigned areas to ensure timely and proper quality cleaning is being accomplished, cleaning discrepancies are cleared in a timely manner, and/or notifies

supervisor of any/all buildings or areas that were scheduled to be cleaned that were closed or inaccessible.

  • Responsible for maintaining supply inventory, including proper labeling, stocking in an organized/neat manner, and ordering supplies in a timely manner so that adequate inventory is available at all times.
  • Report all operational problems beyond your capability to remedy to the supervisor.
  • Report all employee on-the-job accidents/incidents to the supervisor promptly.
  • Periodically inspect assigned equipment, and report broken, unsafe, or faulty equipment to the supervisor.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO THIS POSITION MAY INCLUDE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Performs other duties as required to fulfill janitorial contract obligations or changes based on customer needs.
  • Some positions may require using a computer operating on the Windows operating system to perform word processing with Microsoft Word and completing spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel is required for some Lead Worker positions.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER - AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY/EXPECTED OUTCOMES (As stated below - specifics are outlined in the Performance Work Statement)

  1. Spot Clean (Doors, Mirrors, Walls, Windows, etc.)
  2. High Dusting (Between 6.5 and 10)
  3. Windows (exterior/interior wash)
  4. Clean Interior Glass
  5. Clean glass/mirrors to the standards as specified in paragraph 5.14.1.28
  6. Spot Clean Childrens Furniture
  7. Routine Cleaning of Childrens Furniture
  8. Collecting and Disposing of All Trash and Debris
  9. Clean Dryer Ducts
  10. Cleaning Washers/Dryers
  11. Grounds (cleaning playground equipment, gathering areas, and trash pick-up)

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Adequate ability for conversation, telephone use, and emergency information systems.
  • Ability to be independently mobile on all surfaces and situations.
  • Ability to move safely about work area.
  • Ability to retrieve items from high and low areas.
  • Ability to perceive size, discrimination, temperature, shapes, and/or textures.
  • Physical stamina to work at least 8 hours per day.
