We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to drive the direction and success of our Power and Controls (P&C) relationships with the US Army and its Prime Contractor organizations. As the Associate Director, Business Development, you will be pivotal in developing and nurturing key customer partnerships, fostering collaboration, and enhancing the synergy between our business leadership and our esteemed US Army customer organizations.

What You Will Do

  • Leverage your extensive Army background to provide competitive advantages to the enterprise with comprehensive understanding of Army customer needs, program, and budget priorities.

  • Lead the development and execution of winning capture strategies for US Army programs and position the business to win One P&C and One Collins solutions and or offerings where applicable.

  • Serve as a single Point of Contact (POC) for capture management activities within the Pursuit to Order Capture process of CMS on assigned pursuit(s) / programs, internally and externally.

  • The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams to develop pursuit strategies and implement actions that culminate in a pipeline of qualified business opportunities.

  • Develop multi-level contact plans for assigned customer segment(s).

  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.

  • Analyze customer information and develop customer Most Important Requirements (MIRs), key performance parameters, and opportunity price-to-win.

  • Define P&C customer affinity strategy and develop strong relationships with key customer account(s).

  • Influence customer planning and clearly articulate customer needs to business leadership. Understand competitive landscape and implications to inform capture management efforts.

  • Collaborate with P&C IPTs to execute Collins’ Pursuit to Order Capture best practices (i.e., SDWs, CBAPs, and Blackhat workshops) and partner on position to win actions.

  • Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of multiple and dynamic factors. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions where failure to achieve required objectives would result in headwinds to (long-term) business financial plan.

  • Develop and brief compelling strategic and business growth opportunities to include market, market segment, and or competitive analysis via decision gate reviews.

  • Create, analyze and articulate innovative solutions to problems that leverage Collins technologies to obtain most efficient and effective use of company investments and align with product roadmap strategies.

  • Travel up to 30% may be required.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with U.S. military CONOPs (mission objectives) and the implications of architecture decisions to air vehicle weapon systems related to airframe controls, power and thermal management systems, electric power, environmental control systems, and their interactions with propulsion systems.

  • Experience in DoD acquisitions related to 6.2-6.4 funding.

  • Direct experience working in the U.S. DoD science and technology community.

  • Experienced working with Army Futures Command (AFC), Army Materiel Command (AMC), and PEO Aviation Acquisition and the prime and subcontractors supporting these strategic initiatives.

  • Financial acumen demonstrated at both tactical and strategic level to ensure that financial goals of the business are effectively planned and executed.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
