Robert Half Assistant Controller in Huntsville, Alabama

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Controller in Huntsville, Alabama. The Assistant Controller will be a key member of our team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial reports, maintaining compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and providing leadership to junior staff.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.

• Monitor and ensure the accuracy, consistency, and transparency of financial data and disclosures, including conducting monthly reconciliation of all accounts.

• Collaborate with other teams to gather and analyze financial information, and ensure the accuracy of financial data and business transactions.

• Participate in financial and operational audits, respond to auditor inquiries, and resolve any discrepancies or issues.

• Assist with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.

• Stay updated with changes in financial regulations and guidelines relevant to the industry and ensure that these changes are implemented in all accounting practices and reporting.

• Provide leadership, guidance, and training to junior accounting staff.

• Prepare and present accurate, timely, and complete financial statements, reports, and analyses.

• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits, responding to inquiries and resolving any discrepancies or issues. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role or in the field of finance and accounting

• Proficiency in Annual Financial Reporting, SEC Financial Reporting, and SEC filings is mandatory

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required; a Master's degree or CPA is preferred

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

• Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Strong understanding of GAAP and other financial regulations

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
