Robert Half Procurement Analyst in Huntington, New York

Description

Procurement Analyst opportunity available with a terrific Huntington area distributor. The role will have you working closely with ownership, as well as among the supply chain team to ensure efficient, high quality, and cost-effective procurement of goods. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and contribute to the optimization of our inventory and procurement processes.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in buying activities and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services

• Monitor and track inventory cycles to maintain optimal stock levels

• Collaborate with the supply chain and sales teams to understand and forecast procurement needs

• Utilize strong mathematical skills to analyze and interpret procurement data

• Ensure excellent customer service by addressing and resolving procurement related inquiries

• Contribute to the overall efficiency of the procurement process through continuous improvement initiatives

• Utilize procurement software to update and maintain accurate records of purchases and pricing

• Collaborate with other departments to identify future procurement needs and potential issues

• Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and market suppliers

• Prepare and present detailed reports on procurement activities, costs, and forecasts.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a procurement analyst role or similar

• Proficiency in inventory management, specifically inventory cycles

• Ability to track inventory and generate relevant reports

• Experience as a buyer in a corporate setting

• Proficient in using procurement software and tools

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers

• Good understanding of supply chain procedures

• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred
