We currently have an opportunity for aSenior Environmental Health & Safety Manager to join our team located in Huntersville, NC.

Your Role:

The Senior Environmental Health & Safety Manager is responsible for providing focus, definition, and technical expertise for the development of a proactive Environmental, Health, and Safety plan for the Business Unit and that is consistent with Reynolds’ corporate policies, vision, and values; and is in compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations for their assigned location; along with supporting sustainability initiatives and ensuring consistency and conformity across the Business Unit on all aspects. You will have the opportunity to:

Site Level (75% of time allocated to):

  • Drive development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and programs.

  • Maintain updated OSHA and EPA required written programs and develop/conduct training as necessary.

  • Oversee reporting and investigations of potential injury, accident, and/or health and safety related issues.

  • Oversee environmental, health, and safety training to support and enhance the organization’s safety culture.

  • Develop and deploy policies, procedures, and programs to support best-practice and identify best-practices with the Reynold’s system.

  • Provide communication and training to plant management, establish and maintain communications, reporting, assessments, training programs, and guidance.

  • Work with Corporate EHS departments and provide prioritized direction and technical expertise to the engineering organizations or contractors in implementing EHS projects.

  • Develop, implement, and drive highly effective and metric based safety improvement plans.

  • Serve as communication link between management and employees helping resolve EHS-related concerns, while promoting a culture of safety excellence and shared vigilance.

  • Supervise, coach, and develop EHS support staff.

Business Unit Level (25% of time allocated to):

  • Work closely with Business Unit and Department Leaders to build a “Safety First Culture” throughout all manufacturing and distribution facilities.

  • Provide the Business Unit with strategic direction and leadership for EHS initiatives.

  • Develop and support framework and processes to drive continuous improvement of environmental, health, safety, and risk management programs, compliance, and safety culture.

  • Develop data-driven strategies and oversee initiatives for key risk reduction programs and ensure alignment with the overall corporate strategy.

  • Lead development of Business Unit action plans, projects, initiatives, goals, and objectives that maintain a balance between corporate objectives, business needs, and operations.

  • Support all facilities within the Business Unit and provide leadership in implementing and sustaining Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and procedures by ensuring critical resources, tools, and training are available.

  • Evaluate, manage, and report Environmental, Health, and Safety risks and incidents from standard operations, process changes, and incident trends within the Business Unit to Business Unit Leaders and the corporate EHS Leader.

  • Collaborate with corporate EHS, HR, RD&E, and other departments in the development, improvement, and implementation of company-wide EHS systems, strategies, programs, policies, procedures, tools, and action plans.

  • Work together with other BU Sr. EHS Managers and corporate EHS to ensure consistency of programs across business units and alignment with corporate strategy and management system.

We need you to have:

  • BA/BS degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering, or technical discipline or related field.

  • 8+ years of progressive/related experience in professional health, safety, and environmental experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Extensive knowledge of the RCP EHS Management System, programs, and tools.

  • Ability to travel once per quarter to Albany, OR and Red Bluff, CA.

Icing on the cake:

  • MBA or Masters level degree.

  • Certifications in Health & Safety.

  • Experience at multiple manufacturing or industrial operations.
