Sinclair Broadcast Group Human Resources Generalist in Hunt Valley, Maryland

Are you a hands-on and detail-oriented HR Generalist looking to get to another level of your career in Human Resources? If you answered “Yes!”, we want to hear from you. Sinclair, Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Generalist with a vision to be part of a dynamic Corporate HR team that strives to deliver the best HR Customer Service to 7300+ employees in multiple locations across the U.S. This is an in-office position in our Hunt Valley Corporate Headquarters.

While no day will be exactly the same, you will execute daily responsibilities in the various HR functional areas (including but not limited to):

  • Provide top notch HR customer service! This includes assisting our talented workforce with interpretation of HR procedures and providing timely, accurate and helpful responses to questions on policies and practices

  • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives

  • Demonstrate to be a subject matter expert with our Human Capital Management system including providing training, completing transactional tasks, auditing and system testing

  • Prepare various reports on employee data and trends

  • Take a lead administration role in our HR programs that touch our operations such as DOT compliance, performance management or other specific company program

  • Participate in employee relations matters, which may include providing sound guidance to people managers on employee performance, conducting investigations, organizing and tracking of activity, drafting documents and conducting investigations

  • Perform HR transactional tasks such as preparing and delivering leave of absence correspondence and paperwork, filing workers’ compensation claims, maintaining personnel records, conducting separation meetings and exit interviews

  • Assist with audits for HR compliance, including FLSA, FMLA, FCC EEO Requirements and all other applicable employment laws and regulations

  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned, including providing support to all of the HR Department

  • Some overnight travel may be required

  • Protect and maintain confidentiality with utmost scrutiny.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related program of study

  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience HR Generalist or equivalent experience

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel (red-lining word documents, as well as using vlookups and pivot tables in excel will be the norm)

  • Previous experience with a cloud-based human capital management system, Oracle is a plus

  • An eagerness to learn new skills and advance your HR career

  • Love working with a team but can keep yourself busy and prioritize your own time and projects

  • A focus and passion for delivering great customer service to various levels of management and employees

  • A self-starter with a high level of attention to detail and strong analytical, problem solving, organization and multi-tasking skills

  • The ability to maintain strict confidentiality

  • Apply strong interpersonal skill; including, but not limited to, approachability and the ability to build relationships.

  • Due to our people-facing operations, working on-site most of the work week is required, but there is plenty of flexibility!

  • Experience in the broadcast industry is a plus!!
