Job Description Summary

The QA Laboratory Analyst will be responsible for assuring testing to materials, components and finished products in to ensure compliance to standards, specifications in accordance with clearly defined procedures. Assure the performance of laboratory testing and ensure efficacy, quality and reliability of QA Laboratory testing such as: microbiological and chemical. Is responsible for perform and ensure properly completion of raw materials, stability, complaints, and special investigation testing’s assigned.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordinate documentation for compliance with standards

  • Investigate QA Lab process deviations or failures

  • Develop and assist in test methods and quality assurance procedures

  • Establish inspection and test procedures following GLP, cGMP, ISO, and other regulations

  • Operate and maintain lab equipment, perform tests, and manage equipment issues

  • Test incoming chemicals to ensure they meet specifications

  • Assist with laboratory organization and identify potential performance and safety issues

  • Handle laboratory material orders and inventory within expiry periods

  • Maintain a safe work environment and implement safety protocols

  • Review test data for accuracy and complete validation tests as per protocols

  • Document test results, maintain records, and support validation activities

  • Coordinate equipment calibration and maintenance

  • Prepare materials for analysis and run retention sample disposition

  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and ensure complete test documentation

  • Maintain laboratory supply inventory and follow Quality System Regulations

  • Perform duties as assigned by the QA Laboratory Supervisor

As a Chemist:

  • Conduct QC chemical tests following SOPs and pharmacopeias.

  • Analyze samples using chromatography, spectroscopy, dissolution, etc

  • Evaluate and interpret Quality Control data and develop new test methods

As a Microbiologist:

  • Design and conduct biological experiments, support product development, and perform environmental monitoring

  • Conduct biological testing, maintain documentation, and support method transfer and validation activities

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors in Science in Biology, Microbiology or Chemistry (Chemistry desired)

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a Laboratory Area, preferable in Medical Devices or related pharmaceutical industry

  • 1 year industry experience

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledgeable in laboratory test procedures through advance study or a combination of experience and college level study

  • Ability to plan laboratory approaches for unusual situations

  • Must have the dexterity and analytical ability to operate and maintain sensitive laboratory instruments

  • Should have normal color perception

  • Must be accurate in mathematical calculations

  • Must be bilingual (English/ Spanish) and must have good communication skills both oral and written

  • Teamwork oriented

  • Analytical skills

  • Quality and results oriented.

  • Computer skills (knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher) etc.

Work Environment:

  • Hours of operation are flexible and vary depending on job requirements. Typical workweek is 40 hours with additional/variable hours for specific work periods and projects. Specific works days and hours are flexible and may change with advance notice.

  • The nature of the work requires exposure to biological pathogens, chemicals, noise. Exposure to machinery and non-ionizing radiation.
