Jacobs Software Solution Architect in Hudson, New Hampshire

You will be a member of a dynamic team that creates mission planning software solutions for DoD aircrew, directly enhancing the warfighter’s ability to defend our country. As a JSEC Solution Architect you will work closely with our customer, development teams, program management, and solution architects from other contractors to define, plan, design, and implement solutions that meet the needs and expectations of our customers and end-users. The Solution Architect coordinates and collaborates with customer and JSEC leadership to write SAFe-level Capabilities and Epics that align with strategic and product roadmaps and drive appropriate architectural and designs into product development.

The JSEC Solution Architect plays a key role in ensuring the appropriate tech stacks and architectural/designs are applied properly, not only to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and roadmaps and customer and end-user needs and expectations, but to drive innovation that optimizes and improves our product lines to keep our users happy and our organization competitive.

Responsibilities:

Work scope and day-to-day activities may include the following:

  • Collaborate closely with the customer to propose and influence the evolution of the NOMS enterprise architecture, and ensure JSEC development team is in alignment and capable of meeting customer expectation

  • Collaborate closely with the customer to create Capabilities and Epics that align with the direction of NOMS product lines

  • Ensure solutions and software being developed are innovative and are designed with factors in mind such as optimization, customization, performance, maintainability and technology refresh

  • Provide technical leadership and assistance to development teams to implement proper and appropriate designs and technology that advance the product lines

  • Work with the team and customer to troubleshoot and problem solve technical issues, defects and other challenges that may arise

  • Collaborate and coordinate with leadership, colleagues and development teams to develop and execute plans of action to address issues and/or needs as they arise

  • Lead, support and contribute technical content for proposals and business development pursuits

  • Ability to apply advanced architectural principles and techniques to lead software design and development activities at the SAFe solution level

  • Possesses broad technical acumen in modern architectural principles and modern software engineering programming languages. Knowledge of the NOMS Mission Planning technical stack is preferred, along with the ability to effectively apply that knowledge and related experience to technical planning and development activities to advance the product line(s)

  • Provide architectural and technical leadership to development teams and program management to ensure plans and direction taken for solution implementation aligns with customer and user needs, as well as supports strategic and business objectives

  • Able to effectively coordinate and collaborate technical matters among program managers and customer leadership on a wide range of technical matters to include proposing solutions and alternatives, associated risks, issues, and impacts and considerations for future planning

  • Curious with a bias for innovation, action, problem solving and experimentation

  • Analytical thinker who puts mission first and values product quality, as well as end-user Interface and Experience (UX), operational usability and effectiveness, evolution and advancement, performance, and maintainability

  • Collaborator with a willingness to work hard and contribute to the team, ensuring product design and development results in meeting, if not exceeding, customer and end user expectations

  • Teammate with courage, respect for others, empathy, intellectual humility, and ability to maintain and strengthen stakeholder relationships

  • Communicator, oral and written, who can simplify complicated information and effectively present to leadership and applicable stakeholder audiences to help drive decision making

Clearance: Must already have Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain

Minimum Education: BS degree from an accredited college or university in any Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field.

Minimum Years of Experience: 12

Preferred:

  • Secret (or above) Clearance

  • Next-generation Open Mission Systems (NOMS) Tech Stack experience and expertise

  • Master’s degree in STEM related field

  • Security Engineering/IA credentials

  • Military and/or related operational experience
