DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Production Associate to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for Cummins in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom .

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Operate and oversee metal cutting machinery, including setting up, tooling, and contributing to process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.

  • Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards by using appropriate personal protective equipment and immediately reporting any hazards or incidents.

  • Participate in HSE training and initiatives, actively engaging in promoting safety and environmental responsibility among team members.

  • Conduct quality inspections and follow standard work procedures, including Statistical Process Control (SPC) and poka-yoke, to identify and control non-conforming materials.

  • Operate both manual and automated equipment to manufacture and assemble products, ensuring they meet customer specifications and quality standards.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area through routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks, including performing planned operator care and maintenance tasks.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and support staff to coordinate work activities, troubleshoot issues, and ensure production goals are met.

  • Engage in continuous personal development and training, contributing to team efforts to improve safety, quality, processes, and overall production performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Apprentice training preferred, with specific experience in metalwork machining and grinding operations.

  • Experience in grinding and working with metalwork machinery, demonstrating a solid background in relevant manufacturing processes.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver clear and effective communication tailored to different audiences.

  • Demonstrates courage by addressing difficult issues directly and constructively, ensuring important matters are discussed openly.

  • Results-driven, consistently achieving targets and meeting production goals, even in challenging situations.

  • Commitment to health and safety, actively promoting safe practices and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement in workplace safety.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

  • Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
