The worldwide chemical industry looks to Chemical Market Analytics to guide decisions and help manage risk across the entire value chain.

About the Role:

As Senior Data Analyst - Energy Markets, you will support data gathering, database maintenance, and data analysis for oil, refined products, NGLs and natural gas market research and analysis. You will have an important role in supporting the data strategy for the Energy Markets team. You will report to the Head of Data within the CMA Energy Markets team.

You Will:

  • Ingest, standardize, and integrate oil, gas, NGLs and energy related statistics

  • Prepare models, data sets, and analytics for activities covering energy markets

  • Write modular, reusable code to liaise between external sources of data, internal tools, and databases

  • Build frameworks to ensure accurate and insightful data

  • Develop explanatory and predictive algorithms to optimize content for distribution on and off platform

  • Proactively design, roadmap, and deliver projects with efficiency and quality assurance processes in mind

  • Port into Python computational models built with Excel and perform maintenance on legacy VBA code

  • Lead design and preparation of content delivery tools that enhance client experience

  • Present and share data-science work with internal research teams

  • Contribute to discussions on AI, analytics, engineering, visualization, modeling innovations, and best practices

You Have:

  • 5+ years’ relevant experience

  • Knowledge & understanding of the energy value chain and the related market dynamics

  • Proficiency in Python (i.e. pandas, scikit-learn, numpy, tensorflow, etc), git, SQL, and relational databases

  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and process documentation & business intelligence applications

  • Experience with data visualization applications, data analysis and data modeling

  • Experience with PowerBI or other data visualization tools

  • Experience with object-oriented programming (preferred)

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems Management, Data Science or relevant discipline
