Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Texas/Gulf Region Growth Leader (RGL) for employment in Houston, TX to support and expand our regional environmental remediation practice. This role will deliver sales growth primarily in Texas but also throughout the Gulf Region.

The Texas/Gulf RGL will work, as necessary, with AECOM’s community of other regional growth leaders primarily across the remediation consulting business and with the Department Manager (DM) as a primary partner to expand department growth and support national pursuits aligned with our strategic growth initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the RGL will be externally focused with the role comprising >50% client-facing activities. The RGL will support and expand our regional remediation practice and provide leadership and guidance as it relates to our pursuit of key strategic growth opportunities for large-scale remediation. The selected candidate will work with our US West Remediation Growth team, collaborate with our National and Global Environment Practice teams, and be responsible for the growth strategy for our regional Remediation practice. The selected candidate will function as a growth mentor to high-potential staff, manage client relationships, and help support projects and programs that may include or require:

  • Direct experience with site characterization, treatability studies, and baseline risk assessment.

  • Cost estimating and environmental liabilities assessment.

  • Design of removal action, treatment, and containment systems and facilities (soil, groundwater, sediment).

  • Understanding of applicable state and federal regulations.

  • Relationships with regional and national clients and professionals.

  • Track record working cooperatively with state and federal agencies.

The selected candidate will work with our engineers, geologists, scientists, and construction managers to develop integrated solutions and business development opportunities.

The RGL will report to the DM of our Texas/Gulf Region and work closely with our Client Account Managers (CAMs), Regional Directors of Sales and Growth, Environmental Practice Leads (PLs), Capture Managers (CMs), Strategic Technical Leads (STLs), and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

The RGL will work in a supportive environment under the direction of the DM and have the following key responsibilities:

  • Lead growth initiatives for the Texas/Gulf Region Remediation Department in conjunction with the Business Line’s and Region’s strategies.

  • Confer with the EBL Growth team, the Department Manager, and other key leadership to determine growth objectives and develop detailed tactical actions with prioritization to achieve departmental growth targets.

  • Serve as active Client Account Manager (CAM) for high-growth target clients.

  • Identify new work opportunities—focused on deepening/expanding relationships with existing clients, identifying new opportunities, and developing new clients.

  • Capitalize on own expertise and existing professional network to maintain and establish new key account relationships and ensure they are managed for growth under the CAM program.

  • Identify key environmental and remediation growth markets or services.

  • Establish cross-business line collaboration and coordination with the Global Goods Movement Practice, Transportation, and Water Business Lines to facilitate ancillary services (e.g., wastewater treatment).

  • Identify future sediment opportunities for private clients in Texas/Gulf Region focus areas. Work with our Americas Sediment Leaders.

  • Work with AECOM's existing Remediation and Oil, Gas, Chemical and Industrial program clients to expand remediation services.

  • Implement and track pursuit of strategic growth opportunities.

  • Meet with key clients to understand their changing needs and priorities and present information on AECOM professional services.

  • Lead large and strategic pursuits/proposals – develop the winning strategy, respond to RFPs including cost proposal development, and additionally align strategic teaming discussions with other consultants or service providers on larger proposal pursuits.

  • Serve as an cross-business-line/cross-practice-area ambassador for the supporting Ports/Marine and Water practice initiatives along with expanding complimentary AECOM business lines.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental science or related field and 10+ years in project management of environmental remediation or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership

  • US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.

  • Valid Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in civil engineering, chemical engineering, geotechnical engineering, geology, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university.

  • 20+ years of related work experience with at least 10 years in management of project teams delivering remediation reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates in a lead role.

  • Respected leader in Environmental Remediation.

  • Proven track record of winning work in professional consulting services and growing client accounts.

  • Broad knowledge of and experience in environmental consulting work in various markets including Oil and Gas, Power, Infrastructure, Mining and/or Federal.

  • Experience in conceptual design, preliminary design, final design, construction and operation of remediation sites and facilities.

  • Excellent communicator and team player.

  • PE or PG license in respective state/states.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $180,000.00 - $220,000.00.
