MD Anderson Cancer Center Sr. Pharmacy Technician - Retail - Pharmacy - 9:30a - 8p in Houston, Texas

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

  1. Processes complex insurance issues accurately and efficiently (HAR creation, URN, PFA, PAP). Prepares ATC, ambulance, non-sterile compounds, Investigationals and chemotherapy medications accurately and efficiently. Meets productivity guidelines while maintaining an accuracy rate of 95%.

Productivity stats must not vary 20% below the area's average in these categories: Order Entry, Tech Dispensing, POS, and Delivery

  1. Participates in new and current pharmacy employee training

  2. Receives orders and stocks medications and supplies from wholesaler and Inventory Control accurately and efficiently. Process returns and recalls as needed to the appropriate vendor.

  3. Ensures adequate inventory during the fill process and adjusting as necessary

  4. Notifies appropriate personnel at MDA and/or various vendors to resolve issues

  5. Technician Duties plus other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Education Preferred: Certificate from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program or two years of college credit.

Licensure Required: Current Pharmacy Technician Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP).

Experience Required: 1-year experience as a Pharmacy Technician at MD Anderson or equivalent experience in a comparable setting. Preferred Experience: Pharmacy experience in a variety of specialized areas and functions.

Supervision Given : None.

Supervision Received : Technician Supervisor.

Other Required: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.

High school diploma or equivalent. Two years pharmacy technician experience in a hospital, infusion center or retail pharmacy. Current Pharmacy Technician Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP). Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
