The Sr. Manager of Commercial Operations provides superior customer service and acts as a liaison to Sales and Service management, developing mutually agreed targets, processes, and goals. The manager selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure efficient operation and continuously seeks process optimization.
A day in the life
Lead daily operations of a remote Regional Commercial Operations team to drive booking and revenue execution from solicitations submissions / terms negotiations, service quoting, sales and service order processing and fulfillment, and invoicing functions.
Coordinate revenue execution with sales, field, finance, legal, operations, and Global Commercial Operations-Central (GCO-Central).
Track and develop critical metric performance and mitigate any issues.
Continually analyzes business needs and addresses through org design, process change, and team development.
Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements, include trade, quality, environmental, health and safety.
Empower and support personnel to exceed goals.
Recommend budgetary expenditures and labor needs.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage employment processes: hiring, coaching, development, and performance management.
Maintain quality partnerships and act as a liaison for policy updates and change management efforts.
Develop a collaborative culture through team-building activities.
Represent the Americas region in global GCO efforts.
Keys to Success
Education
Bachelors degree required
MBA or advanced degree preferred
Experience
10+ years of experience in commercial operations, supply chain management, business development, sales cycle processes, capital equipment support or related.
4+ years of experience in people management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to hire, empower, and develop remote team members.
Experience with continuous quality improvement and project management.
Proficient in ERP and CRM systems, spreadsheets, and database tools.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience in persuasive communication.
Experience in a multicultural environment.
Knowledge of accounting and compliance practices in a publicly traded company, such as GAAP and SOX preferred.
Experience with international freight transit of capital equipment a plus.
Experience with compliance regulations, including trade laws.
Proficient at Spanish and or Portuguese a plus.
