We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Senior Advisor within our Trade Control group based in Houston, Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate outgoing confirmations for physical crude or natural gas liquids.
  • Electronically match eligible transactions on third-party platforms(s).
  • Review incoming/outgoing confirmations and reconcile transaction summaries to the system of record for physical and financial transactions.
  • Collaborate closely with Front Office and/or Legal to ensure proper trade terms are captured on confirmations.
  • Identify discrepancies, perform all necessary investigation, and resolve disputes relating to the confirmations process.
  • Coordinate end-to-end margin account call/callback process.
  • Assist Accounting with remediation of fee and pricing disputes.
  • Participate in internal and external quarterly audit controls review for confirmations process.
  • Work in conjunction with team members to develop and maintain globally consistent documentation process.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information in accordance with Oxy’s policies and procedures.
  • Execute reporting, prepare dashboards, and heatmaps.
  • Respond to internal and external audit inquiries.
  • Manage record keeping for confirmations and related correspondences.
  • Crosstrain on other tasks within the Risk Operations department (i.e., Business Incident Reporting, Data Integrity Exceptions reporting, etc.).
  • Recommend, develop, and implement solutions to support continuous improvement to our processes and procedures.
  • Manage competing priorities and set clear expectations for stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Legal Studies AND 5-7 years risk operations, regulatory compliance, accounting, or audit experience. OR 10 years risk operations, regulatory compliance, accounting, or audit experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in generating crude, natural gas liquids, gas, or power confirmations.
  • 5-7 years of experience in managing master data in an ETRM (i.e., Allegro, Right Angle, or TriplePoint).
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; excellent attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle challenging deadlines, high sense of urgency.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative and positive team player focused on achieving team success.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Proven experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders across time zones.
  • Experience in visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau or Visio.
  • Experience in creating Training Manuals and or Desk Procedures.
  • Proficient in SQL.
