Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Houston, Texas
Description In this position, you will be in charge of preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, creating budgets and forecasts, and preparing audits, as well as managing internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. What you get to do every single day
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Allocate and prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis reports for management
Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required
Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Offer involvement in various department-wide initiatives
Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks) Requirements - Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Fixed assets experience preferred
Command of consolidations
Solid understanding of Sage 300
Journal entries experience
Proficiency in month end closings
Proven knowledge of journal entries
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Skill with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Excellent attention to detail
ERP system experience
SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
Excellent communication and organizational skills
