  • Provide estimates and plans for documenting new product features

  • Create, maintain, and review software product documentation for several user audiences

  • Develop a deep knowledge of the products and write technical content to an appropriate level of detail

  • Collaborate effectively with globally-distributed product teams to gather information and obtain technical review of content drafts

  • Provide recommendations on documentation content that is most valuable to the user

  • Produce highly useable technical product documentation that maximizes the ability of the end user, designer, and administrator users to understand and use the product effectively

  • Ensure delivery of quality documentation by following review and delivery processes and procedures

  • Ensure proper storage and archiving of documentation by following version control policies and procedures

  • Deliver documentation on schedule with a high degree of quality

  • Collaborate with the writing team in the development of style guides and content standards

  • Work with the manager and team to develop documentation processes and guidelines

  • Provide, record, and manage "request for proposal" engineering responses

  • Collaborate with training department to produce technical content that can be a foundation or reference for training materials


  • Minimum of 6 years' experience as a technical writer

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems or computer science

  • Experience writing documentation for commercially-available enterprise-level software products

  • Experience creating technical content for administrators and users of Web-based applications

  • Experience developing highly technical developer guides

  • Extensive experience with documentation tools: MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe RoboHelp for HTML, MS Visio, Adobe FrameMaker

  • Experience working with software development teams

  • Experience producing documentation in an Agile environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be independent, self-driven, respectful, responsible, flexible, collaborative, results-driven, organized, passionate, and innovative

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, in a dynamic environment

  • Ability to efficiently update documentation for changing product behaviors

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced Agile development environment

  • Results-oriented self-starter requiring minimal supervision
