DESCRIPTION:

A Senior Estimator’s primary responsibility is to assist in gathering, calculating and compiling data for use in hard bid or design/build estimates for one or more discipline areas. Perform all essential functions and responsibilities in accordance with the company’s values and beliefs and in alignment with Fisk’s policies. Responsible for following all local, county, state and federal laws and company policies related to the position.

As a Senior Estimator at Fisk Electric, reporting to The Chief Estimator, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Attends pre-bid reviews and understands the complete scope of work required

  • Visits construction sites for job walks and meetings

  • Reviews and understands all project bid documents

  • Locates, notifies, and sends bid information to subcontractors and vendors for quotes on outsourced work

  • Completes estimate takeoff, using on-screen computer estimating to meet deadlines

  • Completes change order estimates for awarded projects

  • Finalizes the estimate on time and participates in team review with management on bid day

  • Evaluates bids of subcontractors and vendors for completeness of scope of work, schedule, specification compliance, or other bid requirements

  • Prepares value analysis in anticipation of the customer’s best interest

  • Develops the scope of work narrative

  • Assists field operations with the estimate after bid award and at project closeout

  • Prepares proposal letters including scope of work, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications

  • Meets proposal due date schedules

  • Anticipates requirements of producing estimates with little information given

  • Provides consistent follow-up for feedback on bid/proposal, and reports results to management

  • Enforces compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, safety standards and reports variances to Chief Estimator

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field; equivalent combination of technical training and work related experience in lieu of degree

  • Minimum of five years commercial construction and conceptual estimating experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft office programs and computerized on-screen takeoff programs

  • Experience with Accubid or similar software, we currently use McCormick
