Job Description

David Weekley Homes, a progressive leader in the homebuilding industry and nationally recognized for award-winning designs, is seeking a Conceptual Designer with a passion for residential architecture to join our Design team designing concept sketches of single-family homes in a variety of styles across the country.

This position is based at our headquarters in Houston, TX. Non-local candidates must be willing to relocate. We offer relocation assistance within the U.S.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design targeted state of the art production homebuilder product

• Managing projects through the process

• Program (product line) analysis

• Competition analysis

• Balancing design vs. cost per foot

• Designing to a targeted price per foot

  Job Requirements:

• 15 or more years designing original residential elevations and floor plans. Some experience with residential production design is preferred.

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field

• Highly proficient in designing floor plans and elevations utilizing either freehand design or AutoCAD (or similar software program)

• Working knowledge of residential plans and construction drawings

• Licensed Architect or someone who has completed the IDP program and is preparing to sit for the exam is a plus

• An ideal candidate will possess the following essential soft skills: team player, excellent time and project management, problem solving, sense of urgency, creative, detail oriented, and a great deal of flexibility
