Overview: Our client, a large SEC registrant, is seeking a highly skilled Technical Accounting Leader to join their team. This role is critical to ensuring the company stays current with FASB pronouncements and other technical accounting matters. The Technical Accounting Leader will manage a small team and report directly to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stay current with FASB pronouncements and ensure the company’s compliance with existing and new standards.

• Review and write accounting policies.

• Partner with the outside accounting firm on various matters.

• Handle complex accounting issues, including valuations, revenue recognition, mergers and acquisitions, SOX compliance, internal controls, IFRS compliance, debt and derivative valuations, goodwill impairment, lease accounting and other complex matters.

• Participate in roundtable discussions and provide expert insights on technical accounting matters.

• Ensure compliance with SEC reporting requirements and internal controls.

• Prepare and deliver presentations to senior leadership, demonstrating strong presentation and communication skills.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Active CPA license is required.

• 7+ years of experience in technical accounting.

• Preference for candidates with experience in a large public accounting firm.

• Expertise in FASB pronouncements, IFRS compliance, and complex accounting matters.

• Proven ability to manage a small team and collaborate effectively with senior leadership.

• Exceptional presentation and communication skills.

• Ability to reside in the Greater Houston market.

• Limited international and local travel is required.
