Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Senior SDS Engineer to add to their Subsea Drilling Services team in Houston, TX. The SDS Installation Engineer role is critical to ensure proper planning and execution of post manufacturing services to customers. The Installation Engineer is responsible for field installation support, technical documentation, product design review and validation, technical planning, customer interface, project execution, product and system troubleshooting, performance testing, product maintenance, repair and refurbishment.

Responsibilities:

Understand implication of variations in customer, code or contract compliance.

Translate customer requirements into product specific specifications.

Identify technology/product gaps in specifications.

Responsible for safe, high quality, high quantity and on-time-delivery of assigned project deliverables.

Fully competent in shop/lab assembly or field installation or testing, may begin to lead.

Able to identify and troubleshoot system issues.

Develop solutions to problems by analyzing, interpreting and evaluating data.

Provide technical support and leadership for onshore/offshore activities for more complex systems.

Periodically assigned as on-call engineer to support technical issues that may arise in the workshop or offshore.

Provide interface resolution between proprietary and external equipment. Ensure regional alignment with other projects

Skills and Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering

• 2-10 years of experience in Subsea Drilling Systems in a field or shop environment

• Knowledge of relevant industry standards related to SDS (API 5DP, TH Hill DS-1, etc.)

• Does not require sponsorship (Green card or USC)
