Cummins Inc. Rebuild Diesel Technician in Houston, Texas

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician (Rebuild Team) to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in Houston TX.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop.

  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools.

  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles.

  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies.

  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products.

  • Maintain own tools.

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

(Advanced):

  • Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools.

  • Larger more complicated engine rebuilds.

  • Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation.

This position requires a CDL (Med-Card) and will be a part of the FMCSA pool. We will also be required to complete a DMV driving report for this position.

  • A current valid CDL is required for this role.

  • This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free of major violations

  • This role is subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing requirements and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing

  • This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical

  • This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use

  • Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age

QUALIFICATIONS

Compensation and Benefits Base

Salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
