The Engineering Design group is seeking a pipeline design engineer to support Interstate Natural Gas project execution and operational support.

Work Description:

  • Preparation of preliminary pipeline routing, wall thickness, corrosion and stability calculations

  • Oversee pipeline engineering design work performed by contractors

  • Validate pipeline engineering analyses and design calculations performed by contractors

  • Provide engineering support during construction and installation phase

  • Assist in technical evaluation of pipeline materials bids.

  • Perform detailed pipeline design calculations for in-house pipeline design and review design contractor deliverables.

  • Support project management teams with procurement of pipeline materials

  • Support project management teams in contracting of pipeline engineering and construction services

  • Assist in development and implementation of organization work processes and procedures

    Position Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • Excellent analytical and computing skills

  • Excellent communications skills

  • Able to effectively interface and integrate with other Company departments

  • Accountable for completing tasks on schedule with quality and compliance with applicable codes and standards

  • Experience

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Oil and Gas Industry

  • Working knowledge of pipeline design standards and design software

  • Working knowledge of pipeline corrosion control and materials selection

  • Working experience with pipe-coating, pipeline route survey, pipe-lay, and pipeline testing/commissioning operations preferred

  • Familiarity with hot-taps, mechanical connectors and clad/lined pipelines preferred

**Position may be filled at various levels depending on experience and job skills of successful candidate.

Hybrid work schedule (Monday – Wednesday: office, Thursday – Friday: remote); additional work schedule options available (9/80 and half day Fridays)
