Robert Half Payroll & HR Administrator in Houston, Texas
Description We are offering an opportunity for a Payroll Administrator in the manufacturing industry, based in Houston, Texas, United States. This role involves managing, initiating, and processing payrolls across multiple states, maintaining accurate payroll-related records, and ensuring the accuracy of payroll data.
Responsibilities:
• Initiating, processing, and managing multi-state payrolls
• Maintaining and updating payroll-related records
• Ensuring the accuracy of payroll data and reconciling payroll tax accounts
• Managing and reconciling benefits invoices promptly and accurately to ensure correct benefits deductions
• Facilitating the onboarding and offboarding process of employees, providing assistance in the documentation of employment contracts, benefits, and tax forms
• Conducting new hire orientations to ensure a smooth transition for new employees
• Liaising with other HR staff and external partners
• Utilizing Microsoft Excel, Workday Payroll, Workday HCM, and other office tools proficiently
• Conducting ad hoc reporting and handling open enrollment procedures
• Utilizing Spanish language skills where necessary. Requirements • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role in the Manufacturing industry
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Strong knowledge of Benefit Functions and Multi-state Payroll
• Experience with Workday Payroll and Workday HCM
• Ability to create Ad Hoc Reporting
• Familiarity with Onboarding processes
• Experience in Open Enrollment procedures
• Fluency in Spanish is advantageous
• Must be authorized to work in the country (Avoid mentioning specific types of visas or citizenship status)
• Willingness to undergo a non-discriminatory background check

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with high accuracy in tasks
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Knowledge of payroll legislation and regulations
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, HR, or related field is preferred.
