Mid-Level Site Civil Engineer
POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is currently seeking a mid-level Site Civil Engineer to join our team supporting the electrical utility and renewable energy service areas. Our department specializes in high-performing projects with a focus on the future. Our goal is to deliver excellent projects together with a positive experience for our clients and our communities alike.
This position will be reporting to our Cincinnati, OH office with the ability to work in a remote setting from Houston, TX area.
Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities
You’ll be asked to support grading and drainage/stormwater management design for new and existing electrical utility sites, and renewable energy sites (solar, wind, battery storage), as well as access road design, permitting, and construction support.
Prepare and review engineering deliverables in support of civil/site engineering projects:
AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation
Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
Stormwater management calculations, design, and modeling
Floodplain modeling and analysis
Site layout, grading, drainage designs, and drawings
Bill of materials
Construction specifications
Perform detailed engineering reviews of the work submitted by others
Provide mentorship and guidance to others
Coordinate regularly with the Project Engineer/Manager to ensure project scope, budget, and quality expectations are met
Required Education/Experience
BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) degree from an accredited university
Engineer-In-Training Certification
Experience in site design for utilities, industrial facilities, municipal infrastructure, storm drainage and stormwater management design, site grading, roadway, and utility design, sanitary sewer design and analysis, construction specification development and development of construction bid packages
AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation experience
Five (5) to eight (8) + years of experience in civil site/design as outlined above
The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel
Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite
Desired Education/Experience
Professional Engineering License, with NCEES Record and state reciprocity
Stormwater management and hydraulic modeling software (Autodesk SSA, SWMM, HEC-RAS, etc.) experience in drainage, detention and stormwater conveyance
Electric utility substation design experience is a plus
Managerial and leadership skills a plus

Base Salary Range: $70K-110K per year
The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
