Description
We are looking for a Marketing Event Manager, ideally based in Houston, Texas. This role is primarily focused on the creation and execution of an LARGE SCALE extensive events program, requiring strong project management skills and a background in events. The individual will be detail-oriented, capable of managing themselves and others to ensure the successful execution of tradeshows within the specified budget and brand guidelines.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain a comprehensive schedule of tradeshows and scientific meetings, updating it as necessary when shows are added or removed.
• Conduct research on relevant tradeshows and scientific meetings to determine their timing, location, and potential opportunities.
• Handle space reservations, vendor management, payments, and booth presence for all U.S. tradeshows and scientific meetings.
• Act as the primary contact with industry event managers, booth management companies, shipping companies, and other external vendors.
• Manage the overall events budget.
• Ensure the company's presence at events is aligned with the brand.
• Collaborate with our headquarters team on three global tradeshows each year, managing the U.S. portion of the project plan to ensure deadlines are met and communication is clear.
• Ensure the process for running and staffing an event is consistent, scalable, and well documented.
Requirements
50% TRAVEL REQUIRED; 5 large events each year for 7-10 days in length
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role or in the field of marketing
• Demonstrated experience in planning and executing tradeshows and corporate events - at a LARGE SCALE.
• Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and work with external vendors
• Strong event management skills, with a focus on attention to detail and organizational prowess
• Experience in budget management, with the ability to allocate resources efficiently and effectively
• Comprehensive understanding of the event planning process, from inception to execution
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders
• Proactive problem-solving skills, with a solution-oriented mindset
• Proficiency in using event management software and tools
