Schlumberger Lead Electrical Engineer in Houston, Texas

SLB-Capturi is a joint venture between SLB New energy and Aker Carbon Capture. We are a leading carbon capture technology company. We serve a range of carbon-emitting industries including cement, blue hydrogen, bio/waste-to-energy, and gas-to-power among others. Through our portfolio of projects, we are mitigating the environmental cost of industrial activity for a cleaner, more sustainable future. We see a daily growth in our market potential as a rising number of customers look to carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) and our company to solve their emissions challenges. SLB Capturi is one of the leading companies globally that has extensive knowledge of the entire CCUS value chain. We have many ongoing projects, from research and innovation, including pilot plant testing, to concept studies and to large EPC projects, both in Europe and in the United States. Today, we are delivering seven carbon capture units in Europe, with an accumulated capture capacity of 1 million tonnes of CO2.

The SLB-Capturi US team is seeking a highly qualified Lead Electrical Engineer. Reporting to SLB-Capturi Engineering Manager US, you will be responsible for leading our electrical engineering projects; this includes designing, developing, and overseeing the implementation of complex electrical systems and components, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of advanced electrical systems and components

  • Ensure Electrical Engineering projects meet quality, safety, and performance standards from concept to completion.

  • Develop and implement testing protocols to validate performance and reliability of electrical systems designs.

  • Ensure designs comply with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations.

  • Ensure Electrical Engineering deliverables and design adhere to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.

  • Evaluate customer inquiries and specifications to determine the appropriate electrical equipment and design for the application.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams during project development, design, and installation.

  • Lead a multi-location team of Electrical Engineers in Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) projects, studies or product development.

  • Develop, review, and ensure proposals contain clearly defined material, equipment, and delivery information.

  • Manage and develop a team of Electrical Engineers through sharing your technical experience, providing company and individual training opportunities, and fostering a collaborative work environment.

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practices and lessons learned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Electrical Engineering with a proven track record of delivering on commitments and managing engineering teams.

  • Experienced with installation of electrical systems in process plants

  • Expertise in NEC, IEC, ISO, ASTM, EN and other international codes and standards pertaining to electrical power systems.

  • Experienced with electrical power supply (MV & LV), electrical motors, MCC, LV frequency converters, cable systems (MV & LV), lighting systems, earthing, and lighting systems.

  • Experienced in applying advance engineering techniques and analysis in individual and team settings.

  • Strong technical knowledge in Electrical Engineering principles, processes, methods, and tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.

  • Meticulous attention to detail in design, testing, and documentation processes.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

  • A self-starter that demonstrates a positive outlook and contributes to working in multicultural and multidisciplinary and collaborative environment.
