The IT Back Office Applications Director is a critical role in the organization with high visibility. You must be a hands-on collaborator with the ability to influence stakeholders, a process builder (roll up your sleeves), attention to detail with superior organizational skills, and Back Office systems background to be successful. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proven Business Systems Leader interested in helping a growing organization transform all of it's back office systems (Finance, HR, Procurement, etc.) to and enterprise managed platform. This is an action oriented role working across multiple business segments to deliver best in class finance system support and transformation. This role must have an advanced understanding of finance business process with the ability to support and enhance our current landscape while building and executing finance projects.
Responsibilities
Learn and possess a deep understanding of the company’s business models, processes and systems, to expertly design and implement the roadmap and guiding principles for our finance systems and teams
Work with multiple and disparate systems to lead the development, implementation and support of finance, HR, Procurement solutions
Establish standard operating procedures for change requests including separation of responsibility between business and IT and a robust change control process
Provide transparent, consistent, accurate, and repeatable performance metrics that can be consumed by leadership and individual contributors across the business to make effective decisions
Lead strategy sessions with key stakeholders to understand business needs and how to enable business needs and address challenges through technology
Continue to develop and build the team structure to further scale and support our system ecosystem
Identify and resolve issues and problems
Conduct exploratory and proof of concept work to identify potential opportunities to grow, automate and improve
Effectively balance support and project work, including planning and executing technology upgrades
Manage vendor contracts and leverage external partners as an extension of the team
Work closely with business partners across the organization to understand challenges, opportunities and propose process and technology improvements
Work closely with IT infrastructure to ensure optimal platform performance that supports scale and innovation
Actively participate in the industry to stay abreast of industry trends, new technology, and best practices and make recommendations to leadership
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Finance
ERP Experience is required (GP, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
CRM experience (Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, etc.)
8 years of a successful track record in managing teams and vendors, with excellent coaching and mentoring skills
Demonstrated hands on experience supporting finance and ERP systems
SAP S/4 Hanna experience a plus
Experience working in cloud hosting platforms like AWS or Azure
Experience in system integrations, combining off the shelf software with custom developed solutions
Ability to manage product roadmap combining technical upgrades, business functionality and feature releases
Track record of innovative solutioning, problem solving, and working across diverse groups and domains
Ability to communicate with various audiences with varying degrees of technical expertise
Strong planning, priority setting, and project management skills to manage multiple projects and resources in a fast-paced environment
Experience working within an Agile Methodology
