Robert Half Fixed Asset Accountant in Houston, Texas

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Fixed Asset Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role is integral to our operations in the oil field-related manufacturing sector, where you will manage our newly implemented fixed asset system, ensuring efficient data management and excellent account reconciliation, while adhering to corporate policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the recording, tracking, and depreciation of newly acquired or disposed of tangible and intangible fixed assets.

• Regularly audit the company's assets, confirming the accuracy of company records.

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports related to fixed assets.

• Collaborate with other departments, primarily procurement and operations, to keep track of all company-owned fixed assets.

• Maintain the fixed assets register by conducting routine updates, processing acquisitions, disposals, and maintenance procedures.

• Participate in the physical count of the organization’s assets.

• Forecast future expenditures related to the company's fixed assets.

• Guarantee compliance with federal and state laws in the management and disposal of assets.

• Assist in ensuring the regular updating and accuracy of the fixed asset system.

• Utilize accounting software systems and fixed asset management applications for efficient account functions and capitalization. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role

• Proficient in the use of Accounting Software Systems

• Demonstrated experience in managing Accounting Functions

• Knowledge and understanding of Capitalization practices

• Expertise in Fixed Asset Accounting is mandatory

• Familiarity with Fixed Asset Ledger is required

• Proven experience in Fixed Asset Management

• Must have experience in managing Fixed Asset Inventory

• A degree in accounting, finance or a related field is preferred

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team

• Must adhere to strict confidentiality in all matters.
