WESCO Environmental Health and Safety Director in Houston, Texas
As the Director - Environmental Health & Safety, you will partner with operations to continuously improve EHS performance and verification of compliance with local, state and federal environment, health and safety (EHS) regulations and the EHS management system. You will assist with continuous improvement of safety performance and keeps abreast of changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. You will ensure EHS projects are completed on time and within budget.
Develop and implement with the business, controls to eliminate and/or reduce hazards. Project subject matter expertise in selection of controls and regulatory control.
Lead and participate in EHS related incident management including emergency response, injury management, reporting, root cause analysis and corrective actions
Provide EHS support and direction on major projects and general marketing.
Ensure projects are executed with a high level of efficiency and technical safety excellence.
Possess strong verbal, written, presentation skills as well as excellent leadership engagement skills. Demonstrate ability to lead and manage complex projects.
Proven record with implementation of EHS programs in partnership with the business that improves culture and key performance indicators
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related scientific or technical field required.
Occupational Health and Safety (i.e. CSP, CIH, PE, etc.) or related scientific or technical field license required.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience of performing and managing teams or projects focused on EH&S services
Minimum of 5 years’ experience of personal subject matter expertise or credentials (PE, CSP, CIH, etc.) in one or more of the EH&S services listed
