Insight Global Electrical Design Engineer in Houston, Texas

Job Description

A company in the Houston area is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. This person will be responsible for designing cutting edge generator solutions.

Responsibilities include:

Participate in the development of innovative system level concepts and designs that meet project and cost targets.

Interface with suppliers and prototype vendors to obtain quotes, make design changes and execute project initiatives.

Create and modify detailed drawings, draft conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches, or discussions. Be creative in taking an idea and studying the details before converting it into a design.

Create, update, and maintain project documentation including Solidworks 3D Model, 2D drawings, product specifications, Autodesk Vault, and testing requirements.

Support in conducting failure analysis, determining causes and effects, documenting reliability and maintainability trends, and identifying design improvement to prevent similar issues.

Compensation:

$40/hr to $50/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Skills and Requirements

3+ years of experience designing electrical components

Prior experience designing control systems, relay systems, or smaller cable systems

Experience within renewables, solar, or battery industry preferred

Experience using AutoCAD and SolidWorks null
