Job Description

David Weekley Homes is seeking an experienced Division Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team. If you are highly motivated and want to be a team player, we have an opportunity for you.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Monthly analysis of financial statements.

• Respond to questions/inquiries from Operations and Senior Management on a timely basis, providing a high level of support.

• Using highly developed analytical skills and a team approach, participate in month end closing activities to produce timely and accurate financial statements.

• Participate in the development and review of the Company’s Annual Operating Plan (Budget).

• Assist the Financial Reporting team in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports.

• Prepare journal entries, run reports, perform inquiries, and complete general ledger reconciliations.

• Communicate with managers regarding financial statements, budgets and variance analysis and coordinators regarding coding of payments.

• Assist with special projects.

  Requirements:

• Four-year degree in Accounting required.

• At least 3 years’ experience in the accounting field (preferably in financial analysis)

• Proficiency in Excel a must and ability to pick up new things quickly.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.

• JDEdwards and Essbase experience a plus but not required.

• Comfortable working with operations and upper management; can adapt communication to be effective with many types of personalities.

• Strong customer service and communication skills to interact with internal customers frequently.

• Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, have strong analytical and collaborative skills, superior problem-solving abilities, thrive on communication and excel in customer service.
