Description
Job Description: We are seeking a Desktop Support Professional with a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and a minimum of three years of experience. The successful candidate will provide technical support to our users and assist with carrying out complex installations, configurations, as well as carry out diagnostics on performance and functionality of desktop hardware and software. Responsibilities:
Support end users by diagnosing and resolving software and hardware issues on desktops and peripherals
Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools
Communicate complex technical issues to non-technical staff in an understandable and concise format
Maintain an inventory of PCs, monitors, keyboards, hard drives, and other computer equipment
Collaborate closely with the IT team to ensure that desktop support integrates effectively with other infrastructure services
Promptly escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate technical teams
Create and maintain detailed documentation of the IT infrastructure and develop user guides to facilitate the optimal use of IT resources
Conduct regular security checks and implement cybersecurity measures in line with the company policies
Stay abreast of the latest technology trends and make recommendations on hardware and software upgrades
Training end users and promoting the productive use of desktop tools.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Minimum of three years of experience in desktop support or a similar role
Excellent technical knowledge of desktop hardware, software and peripherals
Strong knowledge in Windows and MAC operating systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with corporate antivirus solutions is a plus
Strong troubleshooting abilities and problem-solving skills
Exceptional communication skills and ability to explain complex technical issues in layman terms
Holds industry certifications like CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, etc., will be an added advantage
Ability to work in a team and independently.
