Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Data Engineer in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for managing vast amounts of data, developing data pipelines, and ensuring the data is prepared for reporting. Your focus will be around the data set so that other team members can create the reports. This role requires strong SQL expertise and experience with Microsoft shop, SSIS, Azure, and ETL implementation.

Responsibilities

• Manage large amounts of data, both familiar and unfamiliar, and prepare it for reporting

• Develop data pipelines and oversee end-to-end ETL implementation

• Use SQL extensively to manage data stored in SQL databases

• Work with various tools including PowerBI, Tableau, Excel for data analysis and reporting

• Collaborate with reporting teams to curate data into datasets for their use

• Ensure the integrity and security of data by controlling its access and use

• Use Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Data Fabric, and SSIS ETL for various data-related tasks

• Work in a Microsoft environment and utilize their tools effectively

• Resolve any issues related to data management or reporting

• Constantly update your knowledge about the latest data management and reporting tools and trends. Requirements • Proficient in database management and design

• Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret complex data

• Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) tools and methodologies

• Experience in Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory operations

• Knowledge of Data fabric and its applications in data engineering

• Proficient in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes

• Experience with SSIS ETL tool is a must

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred

• Relevant certification in data engineering or related field is a plus Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
