What is the job about?

The Water Utility Division’s Business Development Manager (BDM) is the change agent for innovative offerings and solutions that are positioned to meet /exceed market needs. The BDM supports the Business Development Director to define and execute key strategies for the Wastewater market. This role focuses on wastewater markets and is responsible for aligning and managing strategy, products, and marketing activities. The BDM takes the lead to create new value propositions and business plans.

Your main responsibilities:

• Evaluate and present business opportunities with a data-driven mindset and competencies to the team. Develop, facilitate, implement and maintain business strategies and plans for assigned business areas. Drive and nurture new business models and strategies.

• Identify strategic partnerships and acquisition targets. Create and maintain approved pilot programs to test new ideas and solutions. Unlock new markets and applications.

• Create actionable insights to shape and strengthen key deliverables and execute to create strong business outcomes.

• High level of engagement with external partners including end users, engineering firms, channel partners and other stakeholders with regular visits.

• Collaborate with the local sales team to meet shared business goals.

• Collect and analyze market intelligence and create recommendations by attending exhibitions and following competitors. Represent Grundfos and Grundfos values as needed in internal/external platforms.

Your background:

We imagine that you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business, with a preference for an MBA or MS degree.

• Minimum 8-10 years of proven experience in Water and Wastewater or relevant application/business.

• Comprehensive strategic planning and collaboration skills.

• Entrepreneurial mindset with commercial acumen.

• Proven finished project in executing complex projects.

• Well-established professional network with consulting engineers and utilities.

• Ability to understand and execute tactical initiatives.

• Motivated, accountable, and proactive.

• Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills.

• Resilient, deadline-oriented, and adaptable to pressure.

• Strong stakeholder management capabilities.

• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 40%).

• Fluent in written and spoken English.
