Hunton Services, a division of the Hunton Group (https://huntongroup.com/) is seeking to hire an Area Service Manager for the Boiler and Plumbing division. The ASM will be responsible for growing and developing the business while working with other functions inside Hunton Services (Sales, Finance, HR, and Project Management) to accomplish that goal. An ideal candidate is expected to manage, retain, and grow our recurring revenue in boiler and plumbing service base while working with Sales to acquire new customers. The ASM is responsible for identifying, securing, and executing services, retrofits, or upgrades for boiler or plumbing services. A critical element of managing this business involves manpower forecasting and planning for the efficient and timely execution of contract compliance and obligations in each time frame and with available resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the strategy and performance achievement of operating and financial planning including P&L, forecasting, gap analysis, A/R collections, WIP management, billing cycle, etc.

  • Adoption of new telemetry-based technology to remotely monitor, manage and analyze solutions to problems before dispatching mobile technicians.

  • Oversee all aspects of project planning for ongoing service contracts and emergency service needs, including work orders, change requests, etc.

  • Identify and prioritize projects and plan jobs in detail in Boiler and Plumbing work.

  • Responsible for customer satisfaction and budget for assigned projects.

  • Review and validate contracts and estimates by performing risk analysis and developing risk plans.

  • Create and revise project schedules including assigning tasks.

  • Meet with contractors and owners to discuss the scope of project; budgets; performance; and close-out.

  • Function as the primary interface between the customer, vendors, sub-contractors, and internal expertise within the office and project administration.

  • Identify possible cost-saving opportunities or risk items that will occur on projects.

  • Facilitate invoicing and payments by verifying and approving project-related materials.

  • Maintain quality standards by supervising projects staff and inspecting job sites.

  • Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and assigned staff.

  • Manage the assigned project within the time and cost estimates.

  • Obtain acceptance and timely sign-off of the project by the customer.

  • Train and develop Boiler and Plumbing Field Technicians.

  • Make recommendations for hiring/terminating staff to the Director Operations.

  • Assist in scheduling, organizing, and dispatching Field Technicians.

  • Conduct performance appraisals in concert with service supervisory personnel to recommend raises, promotions, training, and disciplinary actions.

  • Manage performance by monitoring service personnel effectiveness and efficiency in relation to customer service and operating plan goals.

  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required.

  • Regular travel requirements with some overnight travel.

    Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of office equipment and Microsoft Office products.

  • Familiarity with the operation of Energy Management Systems, Plumbing, and Boiler preferred.

  • OSHA Safety Certification for workplace compliance.

  • Backflow Prevention Certificate is preferred.

  • A plumbing license is preferred.

    Experience:

  • Four to ten years of related experience in Boiler or Plumbing maintenance, repair, and installation.

  • Three years' experience in leadership or supervisory roles.

  • Experience in commercial and industrial plumbing/boiler systems

    Management & Business Skills

  • Strong leadership and team management, able to train and supervise technicians.

  • Customer service and client relationship management

  • Budgeting and cost control and able to manage service contracts and pricing.

  • Knowledge of dispatching, scheduling, and service call management

    Education:

  • Associate or bachelor's Degree (preferred, in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration)

  • Bachelor's degree in hvac or related technical field is a PLUS.
