A growing industrial services company located in Northwest Houston is adding an Accountant to their team. The Accountant will analyze financial information and maintain proper record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability as assigned by leadership in the Finance Department.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations and analysis of balance sheet accounts.

• Perform bank reconciliations, accrual and prepaid reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations, calculate and book accruals, amortize prepaid expenses.

• Research differences between general ledger balances and supporting details, and if necessary, prepare adjusting journal entries.

• Manage the overall accounting and tracking of fixed assets to ensure its accuracy.

• Review and book depreciation expenses on a monthly basis.

• Reconcile and record intercompany transactions.

• Create and post journal entries.

• Manages, maintains, reconcile, and records employee expenses as assigned.

• Audit, analyze paid travel and expenses though CONCUR which includes managing all WF Card reconciliations.

• Records expenses on GL

• Manage corporate Wells Fargo cards and record expense accruals.

• Responsible for invoicing activities for assigned locations and/or regions. Analyze invoices to identify capital assets as defined by company policies and procedures.

• Assists Accounting Coordinators with A/P and A/R duties as assigned or business needs dictate.

• Assist in month-end/quarter-end close and year-end audit; provide supporting documentation to both external financial and other auditors on areas of responsibility, maintain and update files and records; assist with ad hoc projects.

Ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

• 3+ years of general ledger experience including reconciliation, accruals and assisting with month end close.

• Experience with Accounting Software (CRM, GP) and Intermediate Excel skills

This is an in office position.

Compensation is up to 80K.

Requirements • Possess a minimum of three years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a relevant field

• Demonstrated proficiency in Fixed Assets, Accruals, and Bank Reconciliations

• Experience in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation and General Ledger is required

• Must have proficiency in using MS Great Plains Accounting software

• Ability to abide by all company policies and regulations

• Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• Must demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required

• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly

• Must have the ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
