Rystad Energy Account Manager Associate in Houston, Texas

Rystad Energy is the world’s leading independent research and consulting firm focused on the global energy industry. As part of the Sales & Marketing organization, the role holder will be assigned a large portfolio of accounts to manage, renew and grow. These accounts will be a mix of operators, oilfield service companies, midstream/infrastructure and financial institutions. Candidate must have exceptional account management capabilities and be skilled in managing a high volume of clients where the focus is on maintaining their business but will also seek growth opportunities with the right subset of companies in the portfolio.

With a large portfolio of companies to manage, the role will be primarily office-based but there will be a requirement to meet clients in person when required. The clients in the portfolio are going to vary in their growth potential and as such, the role holder will need to understand where growth potential exists but equally to where there are renewal risks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a large portfolio of existing client relationships Identify risks and growth opportunities across the portfolio

  • Engage appropriately with clients throughout the year to achieve a perfect renewal rate Ensure new services are communicated and demonstrated

  • Look for sales growth opportunities in the client’s subscription for our existing and new services.

  • Build a network within each client to renew and grow (where appropriate) Ensure usage of our services remains appropriate to the client’s business

  • Manage interactions through the company’s CRM system

  • Communicate internally with research, sales colleagues and management on actives and results

  • Provide feedback and suggestions on product enhancement and new product ideas Ensure new products and services are on-boarded properly

  • Manage the right activities to deliver on an annual sales target

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of account management and sales in the energy industry or adjacent industries

  • A graduate degree, post graduate desirable

  • Negotiating with procurement and/or senior management

  • Selling research, software or consulting services

  • Account management best practices and new business generation skills

  • Management of a large client base

  • Experience with energy-focused data and software sales related to energy supply analysis, modelling, screening and valuations

  • Goal oriented self-starter that can work independently, as part of a team and pull in resources as required

  • Building value propositions based upon specific personas and company types

  • Experience in selling subscription services is highly desirable

  • The ability to quickly and effectively build new networks

  • Using standard Office tools and CRM systems

  • Sales pipeline management and robust forecasting
