Weyerhaeuser Director of Harvesting and Transportation in Hot Springs, Arkansas

This is a key position that is part of the Southern Timberlands Lead Team and reports to the business Vice President. The preferred location for the position is Hot Springs, AR with consideration given to Southern Timberlands regional office locations.

The Director of Harvesting and Transportation is primarily responsible for strategic leadership of the H&T team’s pursuit of operating a world class delivery system in Southern Timberlands that can consistently sustainably harvest, properly merchandize, and deliver our timber to the right customer, at the right time, at the lowest possible cost. This will require collaborating with the lead team and regional managers to ensure an appropriate allocation of resources to safely and reliably execute the Southern Timberlands business strategy at a best-in-class performance level. The position is responsible for a timberland harvesting and transportation strategy that spans across 7M acres in 11 Southern states.

Key Functions: Provide strategic operational leadership in harvesting and transportation functions; Drive continuous improvement and replication of best practices across the South through the coordinated efforts of Region and Functional Teams; Develop, manage and deliver against regional profit and loss statements, operating expense and capital budgets; Provide talent management leadership to ensure employees are developed to their full potential and in alignment with future business needs; Close collaboration with Marketing, Planning and Inventory, Wood Flow and Wood Products functions to optimize solutions for the entire company; Member of Southern Timberlands Lead Team.

  • BS in Forestry or related field. A post-graduate degree is preferred

What We Offer

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $187,208 - $284,655 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 35% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target. This position is also eligible to receive $90,000 in restrictive stock units on an annual basis, as part of ourLong TermIncentive Plan.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours along with paid parental leave for all full time employees.
