System One Quality Manager in Hornell, New York

Oversee Quality Inspectors and manage day to day quality functions. May also inspect all types of materials using different inspection techniques. Reports to President.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBIITIES:

  • Ability to drive change within the organization

  • Oversee quality inspectors and technicians

  • Manage daily operations in the quality department

  • Participate in management meetings as required

  • Perform the duties of management representative for ISO 9000 quality system

  • Inspect materials at various stages of production process

  • Prepare and maintain documentation for records of inspection

  • Read and work with engineering drawings, specifications, diagrams, etc.

  • Document nonconformances on appropriate reports

  • Goal driven, setting measurable expectations for department and organization

  • Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.

  • Formulate and maintain quality control objectives complimentary to corporate policies and goals.

  • Direct the creation and implementation of inspection criteria and procedures.

  • Directs inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.

  • Design and initiate PFMEA (process failure mode effects analysis)

  • Perform root cause analysis on process nonconformances and develop corrective action plans.

  • Work with suppliers to ensure quality of all purchased parts for company use.

  • Designs and implements quality training programs to key personnel in conjunction with other managers and human resources.

  • Assists in investigating customer complaints regarding quality.

  • Ability to initiate a “stop production” in the event of a quality/safety issue.

  • Promote zero defective.

  • Promote zero accident environment.

  • Internal auditor.

  • Perform duties and management representative for AAR Certification.

    REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Ability to manage personnel

  • Solid statistical and technical abilities

  • Understanding of ISO 9000

  • Understanding of AAR Certification

  • Engineering drawing reading
