Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for profitable sales growth, and customer satisfaction within the Dried Meat categories in the CPG & Pet Nutrition segments. Utilizes MFI Value Proposition to effectively build and retain business. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct account contact responsible for growing profitable Meat Category sales volume and retaining key accounts. Responsible for prospecting, qualifying, and acquiring new customers within the CPG and Pet Nutrition segments. Responsible for conducting research on current customers and prospects to insure a customized sales call approach. Generate and/or respond to customer requests to promote the sale of products. Develops and executes strategic key account plans which include portfolio strategies to maximize profitable growth. In-depth understanding of market dynamics and contracting methods. Provides effective communication with customer concerning all administrative aspects of the quotation and agreement/contract process. Effectively manages contracts throughout the term including renewals, annual inflation, lb. balances etc. Coordinate with all internal groups to achieve acceptable service levels and provide continuing visibility of contractual obligations and customer demand (demand planning). Effectively responds to customer questions and/or provides resources for technical support, logistics and other relevant information that the customers require. Monitors sales trends, takes corrective action, and delivers general reporting to highlight key account performance. Drives and/or assist in the launch of new products. Acquires and maintains familiarity with Meat Ingredient industry developments and opportunities. Maintains an accurate and updated CRM database. Travel up to 40%. Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Minimum of 10 years of strategic sales/Key Account Management experience in food sales. Minimum of 3 years’ strategic external Key Account Management experience within the Meat Ingredient business (Dried Meats, Fats & Broths) calling on CPG & Pet Nutrition Companies. Possess supply chain knowledge and project management experience. Excellent oral and written communication, problem solving/decision making and analytical skills. Highly motivated individual able to work in fast-paced environment. Computer skills required: Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
