As a Virtualization Specialist, you will design, implement and manage the Hyper Converged Infrastructure Solution. Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for the proper functioning of the various managed IT environments.

For this role, you need practical experience with various execution methods within complex virtual (enterprise) environments. You optimize the configuration of the virtual servers to get the best out of the environment. To do this, you implement (standard) solutions for processes, procedures, capacity planning and risk reduction with the Automation First approach. Naturally, you document your installations with a runbook and architecture diagrams. And - we of course hope that is not necessary - but in the case of disaster recovery you use replication to restore the environment. In any case, you ensure that you are always up to date with the latest technological developments. Collaborating with operational departments comes easily to you. Whether those teams are in the Netherlands or somewhere else in the world.

The growth path for a Virtualization Specialist typically progresses through several stages, each focusing on deeper technical expertise, leadership, and broader organizational impact:

• Senior Virtualization Specialist - At this level, the focus is on deepening technical expertise in virtualization technologies. Your responsibilities may include leading complex projects, mentoring junior team members, and optimizing virtual environments for larger scale and higher efficiency.

• Virtualization Architect - The role shifts towards strategic planning and designing enterprise-level virtualization architectures. Your responsibilities expand to include defining standards, policies, and best practices for virtualization across the organization.

We offer a gross monthly salary of a minimum of €5.250 to €6.834. The salary offer may even exceed this range depending on the skills and capabilities you can bring to the team. You are eligible for two semi-annual salary payments to be paid along with the June and December salary (holiday allowance and 13th-month bonus).

Who You Are

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Around 7 years of hands-on experience in managing large enterprise virtual environments with 1000+ Virtual Machines across multiple data centers;

• Extensive knowledge of virtualization technologies, including hypervisors and containerization;

• Knowledge of and experience with VMware or any modern hypervisor (certification is a plus);

• Knowledge of Nutanix is desirable, but we can also train you in this;

• Experience with managing Windows and Linux servers;

• You are familiar with scripting and automation (Ansible knowledge is a plus);

• Knowledge of storage and network architecture and configuration;

• You have knowledge of ITIL and are familiar with registration systems such as ServiceNow.

As this role is dedicated to supporting our distinguished customers in the Netherlands, proficiency in Dutch is a prerequisite for this opportunity.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Knowledge of private and public cloud solutions;

• Knowledge of backup solutions in large virtual environments;

• Excellent communication skills;

• You work autonomously but ask for help when necessary and escalate on time;

• You can collaborate effectively with other IT professionals.
